Concorde G-BOAG Ready for Take-off London to New York British Airways Concorde BA 002 made her first flight from London to New York on 22nd November 1977 she measures 204ft in length stretching between 6 and 10 inches in-flight due to heating of the airframe Concorde takes off at 250mph she cruises at around 1350mph more than twice the speed of sound at an altitude of up to 60,000 feet over 11 miles high. A typical London to New York crossing would take a little less than three & a half hours 9 crew with a 100 passengers The final commercial flight from New York to London was on the 24th Oct 2003 Concorde flew over 50,000 flights, and carried 2,500,000 passengers and 1,000,000 bottles of Champagne consumed.
